Barack Obama preaches Tulane.

Barack Obama spoke to Tulane University. A few days later, Obama was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Recording of the Year... And we saw him for free. Tough question for discussion: How was Obama's talk not like church? -Sam P.

"How was it not like church?"

Let me count the ways for you Sam:

-It was in a basketball stadium
-I didn't fall asleep
-I wasn't hungover
-No free sips of booze
-People cheering and saying "Amen" like they meant it

The church I go to is a big cathedral in downtown Nashville where you have to dress up for god and then schmooze after the services. Bleah. Although I did have to wake up early for Obama, I would say the two were as different as can be.

However, it would be pretty sweet if they had stained glass inside
Fogelman. You know those giant banners of the Tulane players they have hanging outside? Maybe they could convert those into glass. That would make the games spiritual.
